Prop firm passing EA · Tier Aurora by TierAlba
The prop firm EA built to pass inside the rules.
Tier Aurora is an Expert Advisor that trades your FTMO or other 2-Step and 1-Step challenge on your own MetaTrader 5 or cTrader account. It reads your program’s limits and trades smaller as equity nears the maximum loss.
No martingale, no grid, a stop loss on every trade. Your password never leaves your hands.
What is a prop firm EA?
An Expert Advisor is a program that trades on its own inside MetaTrader or cTrader. A prop firm EA is one built around the limits of a challenge: the daily loss limit, the maximum loss and the profit target. Breaking any of them ends the account, so the way an EA sizes and stops matters more than how fast it can make 10%.
What a safe prop firm EA needs, and what Tier Aurora does.
These are the checks to run on any EA before you put a challenge fee on it, ours included.
| What to look for | Why it matters | Tier Aurora |
|---|---|---|
| Small risk per trade | One loss should never threaten the account. | Sized on the room left before the maximum loss, down to a quarter of normal near the floor. |
| Daily loss protection | The daily limit ends most challenges. | A daily guard sits inside the firm's limit and total open risk is capped. |
| No martingale, no grid | Adding size to recover is how accounts blow up. | Never. Every trade has a stop loss and size never grows after a loss. |
| Rules of your program | Each firm and phase has different limits. | Presets for the FTMO 2-Step and 1-Step and common programs, or your own rules file. |
| News and market hours | Spikes and holidays break stops. | No trading on NYSE holidays, early exit on half days, index setups paused when spreads widen. |
| Published failures | A pass rate alone tells you nothing. | Failure rate, method and a zero-edge control published in our Research. |
| Your account stays yours | Firms ban others trading your account. | Runs on your terminal. We never request, receive or store your password. |
The numbers, with their method.
Tier Aurora v7.29 replayed through FTMO's rules from January 2022 to September 2026, on three of its risk profiles. Faster profiles reach the target sooner and fail more often: both numbers are here.
92% passed · Phase 1 median 36 trading days · 7.4% hit a limit
| Program · profile | Passed | Hit a loss limit | Median time | Edge cut by 45% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Step · Solid | 97% | 2.2% | Phase 1: 51 trading days · both phases: 87 | 76% still passed |
| 2-Step · Standard | 95% | 5.1% | Phase 1: 43 trading days · both phases: 74 | 73% still passed |
| 2-Step · Fast | 92% | 7.4% | Phase 1: 36 trading days · both phases: 64 | 68% still passed |
| 1-Step · Solid | 97% | 0.4% | 89 trading days | 74% still passed |
| 1-Step · Fast | 97% | 2.3% | 64 trading days | 78% still passed |
Method: 7,000 first-passage paths per program and profile, resampled in ten-day blocks so losing streaks stay intact, from the MT5 strategy tester with real ticks. Solid is the tester run; Standard and Fast scale it by the EA's own risk factor, 14 and 16 against 12. On the 1-Step the size follows the tighter daily limit. Simulations on backtests are not a forecast or a promise: real results depend on the firm, the broker and the market. Full method in TierAlba Research.
Which prop firms allow EAs.
Checked on 31 October 2026. Rules change: read the firm's current FAQ before you buy a challenge.
| Firm | Expert Advisors | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| FTMO | Allowed, third-party included | No high frequency trading, latency arbitrage or tick scalping, no more than 2,000 server requests a day, and a cap on capital per strategy. Tier Aurora for FTMO. |
| FundedNext | Below $50,000, on MetaTrader | Needs FundedNext's EA add-on. Not on cTrader. No identical trades across accounts, and EAs built only to pass challenges are banned. |
| Other firms | Usually allowed | E8 Markets, FXIFY, BrightFunded and others: the firm must allow EAs and offer MetaTrader 5 or cTrader. |

EA, passing service or account manager: what firms allow.
An EA on your own account
You install it on your terminal and keep your password. This is how Tier Aurora works.
An EA sold for challenges
Some firms, such as FundedNext, ban EAs made only to pass challenges. Check the firm first.
Someone trades it for you
Sharing your login so another person or company trades your challenge breaks FTMO's rules and most others.
Questions traders ask about prop firm passing EAs.
What is the best prop firm passing EA?
The best prop firm passing EA is the one that passes without breaking the firm's rules: it runs on your own account, risks little per trade, stops before the daily limit, trades smaller near the maximum loss and publishes its failures next to its pass rate. Tier Aurora by TierAlba is built this way and passed 97% of 7,000 simulated FTMO 2-Step challenges on its Solid profile, with 2.2% hitting a loss limit.
Can an EA pass a prop firm challenge?
Yes, if the firm allows Expert Advisors and the EA respects the daily and maximum loss. In our simulations on 2022 to 2026 backtests, Tier Aurora passed Phase 1 of an FTMO 2-Step in a median of 36 trading days on its Fast profile, one in four within 21, and 51 days on Solid. No EA can guarantee a pass.
Do prop firms ban passing EAs?
Some do. FundedNext bans EAs built only to pass challenges and identical trades across accounts, and allows EAs only below $50,000 on MetaTrader. FTMO allows EAs, third-party included, but bans high frequency trading and latency arbitrage and caps the capital per strategy. Every firm bans someone else logging in to trade your account: Tier Aurora runs on your own terminal and never needs your password.
What is a prop firm EA?
A prop firm EA is an Expert Advisor, an automated trading program for MetaTrader or cTrader, built to trade inside the limits of a prop firm challenge or funded account: the daily loss limit, the maximum loss and the profit target. Tier Aurora by TierAlba is one: it reads your program's limits and sizes every trade on the room left before them.
What is the best EA to pass an FTMO challenge?
No EA can guarantee a pass, so judge one by its risk controls and by numbers that come with their method. Look for a daily loss guard, protection before the maximum loss, a stop loss on every trade, no martingale and no grid, and published failures next to the pass rate. Tier Aurora has all of these: on 2022 to 2026 backtests it passed 97% of 7,000 simulated FTMO 2-Step challenges on the Solid profile, and 2.2% hit a loss limit.
How long does it take to pass FTMO with an EA?
With Tier Aurora on the default Solid profile, Phase 1 of an FTMO 2-Step took a median of 51 trading days in our simulations, one in four within 31, and both phases a median of 87. On the Fast profile, Phase 1 took a median of 36 trading days, one in four within 21. These are simulations on backtests, not a promise.
Is there a safe EA for prop firm challenges?
There is no risk-free EA. A safer one risks a small part of the account per trade, stops before the daily limit, trades smaller near the maximum loss and never adds size to win back a loss. Tier Aurora works this way: its size follows the distance to the maximum loss, down to a quarter of normal, and a daily guard sits inside the firm's limit.
Which prop firms allow EAs?
Most allow them, with conditions that differ by firm. FTMO allows Expert Advisors, including third-party ones, but prohibits high frequency trading, latency arbitrage, tick scalping and more than 2,000 server requests a day. FundedNext allows EAs only on MetaTrader accounts below $50,000, with its EA add-on, and not on cTrader. Always check the firm's current FAQ before you buy.
Are challenge passing services allowed?
Letting someone else log in and trade your challenge is prohibited by FTMO and by many other firms. Running an Expert Advisor on your own account is a different arrangement, allowed wherever the firm permits EAs. Tier Aurora runs on your own MetaTrader or cTrader terminal, and TierAlba never requests, receives or stores your password.
Does Tier Aurora use martingale or grid?
No. Every trade has a stop loss, size never increases to recover a loss, and there is no grid or averaging down.
Does Tier Aurora work on MetaTrader 4?
No. Tier Aurora runs on MetaTrader 5 and cTrader only. FTMO US accounts run on MetaTrader 5.
How much does Tier Aurora cost?
Tier Aurora comes with Tier Pass, priced once on the challenge size: from €59 for 5K to €899 for 200K. Funded accounts use Tier Manage.
